Senior Environmental Scientist – Landfill for a specialist environmental consultancy with more landfill monitoring and compliance work than their current team can comfortably deliver.

This isn’t a role where you’re expected to become the technical guru overnight. It’s for someone who knows the landfill industry, can confidently manage projects, communicate with clients and keep programs running.

You’ll inherit established council and landfill operator portfolios covering annual monitoring, groundwater, landfill gas and environmental reporting. The work is already there. The clients are established. They simply need another experienced Project Manager to keep delivery moving.

The Role

You’ll independently manage landfill monitoring and environmental compliance programs across Victoria.

• Manage annual groundwater, landfill gas and surface water monitoring programs
• Coordinate drilling contractors and monitoring well installations
• Deliver groundwater event reports and annual environmental monitoring reports
• Manage landfill capping and CQA projects
• Liaise directly with landfill operators and local government clients
• Mentor junior consultants and coordinate field staff
• Keep projects on budget and delivered on time

The Team

You’ll join a dedicated landfill team of 12 operating from modern St Kilda Road offices.

Leadership remains heavily involved technically, meaning you’ll always have experienced people available when needed, but day-to-day you’ll be trusted to run your own projects without unnecessary oversight.

The culture is practical, collaborative and genuinely specialist. Everyone understands landfill, making technical conversations straightforward and project delivery efficient.

Experience

• Around 5+ years in landfill or waste consulting
• Experience managing environmental monitoring programs
• Landfill gas and groundwater monitoring experience
• Comfortable managing drilling contractors and field programs
• Environmental Science, Engineering or similar qualification

$133,000 – $155,000 + Super
