Salary: $130,000 – $165,000 package on exp.

As a Senior Ecologist in Sydney, join a top-tier consultancy where your development matters. This is a role built for someone with 5-6+ years’ experience who wants the project depth, variety and mentoring that only a national platform can offer.

You’ll step into a team with a strong fauna lead and take ownership of flora work that is currently being outsourced – bringing it in-house and growing your capability with full support behind you.

This role is ideal for a Senior who is looking to take that next step into full project autonomy, supported & guided by a strong team.

The Role

You’ll work across a broad spread of ecological assessments, seasonal field programs and project delivery for clients across NSW. This isn’t a narrow role – you’ll gain exposure to diverse project types, approvals pathways and ecological constraints work, with a clear path to expand your technical profile.

You will:

• Deliver flora surveys and ecological assessments across NSW
• Lead vegetation mapping, impact assessments and reporting
• Work alongside a Senior Fauna Ecologist while owning flora capability
• Support multidisciplinary projects across planning, approvals and ecology
• Engage with clients and contribute to project direction
• Be suitably qualified to survey plants in QLD (SQP required)

You’ll be reporting into an experienced Principal Ecologist who handles fauna – someone who is both highly capable and genuinely invested in mentoring. The team is collaborative, established and supported nationally, giving you access to expertise across ecology, planning and environmental disciplines.
