Team Lead – Environmental Planner / Town Planner to take on a leadership role in a respected Environmental Consultancy of 30 staff, with a focus on Environmental Planning within broader Development Assessment and Town Planning projects across Queensland (Land Advisory / Local Council).

You’ll be stepping in to lead a Land Advisory team of four – a mix of Principal, Senior and Junior Planners – delivering the environmental components that underpin development projects of genuine scale and variety.

This team handles the environmental side of Town Planning and DA projects – often brought in by external planning firms to support with ecological assessments, state referrals, and compliance pieces that sit alongside larger master planning efforts.

The Work

Not your average cookie-cutter DA submissions. Recent projects include:

  • Designing green networks for future city-scale developments
  • Environmental input for harbour redevelopments
  • Supporting large-scale tourism infrastructure upgrades

You’ll provide guidance on:

  • Master planning and development design advice
  • Statutory advice and DA processes
  • Environmental assessment and referral coordination

The Team

This is a well-balanced, supportive and growing team. Directors are hands-on but collaborative, and the broader business includes Major Projects Planners, Ecologists, Landscape Architects and GIS specialists.

Culture is boutique, not corporate. People are trusted, valued and treated like adults. Staff retention is strong, and everyone genuinely gets behind new hires – this Team Lead role is backed by the full crew.

What You’ll Need

  • Experience in Town Planning, DA, or Local Government
  • A solid grasp of development process and ecological requirements
  • Strong leadership skills and a knack for mentoring
