The reporting structure here is a little different, with the Partners focused on running the practice and ensuring the files keep coming through the door, while Team Leaders take responsibility for the day-to-day people leadership of the team.

The practice is widely recognised as one of Australia’s top Medical Negligence teams, operating across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth. Business development is not a requirement for this position – rather, the focus is purely on delivering exceptional client service and fostering the growth and development of your team.

With a billable target set at around 50% of the typical Special Counsel level, you’ll have the freedom to dedicate time to leadership, training, and strategic oversight. You’ll also have the flexibility to select files that interest you, with the option to pass others on.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in mentoring and developing junior lawyers, and ready to step into a formal leadership role. It’s an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the team while maintaining a balanced and sustainable workload.
