Senior Ecologist

Ecology, ENVIRONMENTAL

Brisbane, QLD

120 — 160

• Team of 5 and growing fast
• National projects in renewables, infrastructure & natural resource management
• Hybrid work options + clear path to Principal level

As a Senior Ecologist, join a Brisbane-based team that’s genuinely on the rise.
What started as a small but technically sharp group has attracted some seriously talented people over the past year and the lift in capability and energy has been huge.

They’re looking for a Senior level Senior: someone local who knows the Queensland ecology landscape well and who enjoys the technical challenge of getting it right, not just ticking the boxes.

This is the next stage of growth for the team, and your input will help shape its technical direction and reputation in the market.

The Role

You’ll deliver ecological impact assessments, surveys and reporting across a range of projects: from renewable energy and infrastructure developments through to natural resource management and rehabilitation.

You’ll also play a key role in mentoring emerging consultants, contributing to proposals, and providing quality technical oversight.

Technical:

  • Undertake flora and fauna surveys, vegetation mapping and ecological assessments
  • Prepare technical reports and approval documentation (EPBC, State offsets etc.)
  • Support project delivery across renewables, infrastructure and resources
  • Work closely with planners, environmental scientists and engineers on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to juniors as the team continues to grow

Who You’ll Work With

You’ll be part of an ecology group within a top-tier International multidisciplinary consultancy. The Brisbane office has a great mix of capability and personality – smart, collaborative and energised by growth. There’s no red tape here, just people who care about the work and the outcomes.

Ideal Exp:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Environmental Science or related field
  • 6–10 years’ experience in QLD-based terrestrial ecology
  • Strong technical writing and reporting skills
  • Solid understanding of local environmental approvals and offset frameworks
