It’s go time.

A globally recognised environmental consultancy is resetting its Brisbane Contaminated Land capability after several years of structural change. What remains is a strong brand, deep national capability, and, critically – a pipeline of major work already secured that Brisbane currently cannot deliver due to lack of senior market-facing leadership.

This role exists to fix that.

The Role

As a Principal Environmental Scientist / Engineer, you are the senior market presence in Brisbane.

You’ll focus on:

• Strategic client relationships
• Panel-driven and repeat work
• Market positioning and growth
• Supporting and enabling delivery – not drowning in it

This is not a cold-start BD role.
The work is already flowing from Defence, Council, national panels and interstate offices.

The Work (Already Secured)

• Multi-year Defence monitoring programs (Year 1 of 3, ~$3m secured)
• Growing Brisbane City Council CLM and landfill workload
• National panels across fuel, resources, retail and infrastructure
• Cross-referrals from Geotechnical and other technical disciplines
• Work currently being turned away in Brisbane due to resourcing gaps

The Platform

• Brisbane CLM team currently at 3, moving to 5 immediately
• First growth target: 8-person team
• National CLM capability: Sydney (~20), Melbourne (40+)
• Strong east coast collaboration with long-tenured leaders
• Brisbane operates as its own business unit, not a satellite

Ideal Experience:

• 15–25+ years in contaminated land consulting
• Deep QLD market knowledge and credibility
• Strong client relationships across Defence, Government, Resources or Fuel
• Commercial mindset and confidence at the table
• Australian citizenship (required for Defence work)
