Principal Environmental Consultant Manager – Contaminated Sites

Contaminated Land, ENVIRONMENTAL, Hazmat / Occupational Hygiene, Remediation

Perth, Aus

150 — 200

  • Lead a technically sharp CLM team with strong client relationships
  • PFAS, Defence, Mining and major redevelopment projects across Australia (+ highly interesting international works).

As a Manager / Principal Environmental Consultant in Contaminated Land, this role sits at the heart of a Perth-founded consultancy that’s quietly punching above its weight. Around 50 staff nationally (most in WA), an EPA Auditor on the books, and in-house risk assessors and hydrogeologists mean this business competes comfortably with much larger players.

They’ve built a reputation on complex contaminated land and remediation projects – major Defence contracts, mining and developer portfolios and technically challenging PFAS and groundwater work (including recent international projects in the US landscape).

The brief is clear: manage the work, manage the people and keep the breadwinners free to keep winning bread.

The Work

Projects span PFAS remediation, Defence and infrastructure programs, airport and power station redevelopment, and national mining portfolios. There’s also R&D exposure through international soil treatment trials – work that’s rare for a consultancy of this size.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing a multidisciplinary team delivering contaminated land and remediation projects.
  • Ensuring workloads, resourcing and priorities are well managed so senior technical leaders can focus on growth.
  • Overseeing project delivery, client communication and technical standards.
  • Maintaining cohesion and capability as the business scales nationally.
  • Providing calm, people-focused leadership that balances delivery and development.

The Fit

  • 10+ years’ experience in contaminated land or remediation consulting.
  • Team leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Comfortable running a technically strong team with multiple senior specialists.
  • Excellent communicator who thrives on building alignment and accountability.
  • Exposure to PFAS, Defence, mining or infrastructure projects advantageous.

The Offer

  • Salary range $150,000 – $200,000+ on experience.
