Ideally positioned for a well-experienced Associate or Senior Associate level Lawyer, this role will be working within a specialised team in the defence of medical practitioners, hospitals and insurers for litigated and non-litigated claims of negligence, malpractice and indemnity.

The local Partner has been named consistently over the years as one of the leading practitioners in the defence of Medical Negligence claims, and this position will be operating alongside them on large-scale litigation defence and regulatory matters, while also having carriage of your own portfolio of files from both private and public sector clients.

From a litigation perspective, you will be responsible for end-to-end management and investigation of claims, including interviewing practitioners, researching and understanding complex health issues, drafting pleadings and interrogations, conferring with Expert Witnesses, and representing and advocating on behalf of clients at mediations, conferences, hearings and tribunals.

From a client-advisory perspective, you will be responsible for reviewing hospital and practitioner guidelines in relation to compliance, summarising learnings from claims to avoid future risk, and providing advice to hospitals and individual medical practitioners about liability, quantum, risk and strategic management of claims.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Lawyer who is looking for greater responsibility and autonomy, as the Partner looks to hand over responsibility for client management and mentoring of juniors coming up through the ranks.
