Lead Environmental Planner – Renewables
ENVIRONMENTAL, Planning
Brisbane, QLD
180 — 250
- $180,000 – $250,000
- Lead the Renewable Energy Line.
- Global, Top-Tier Consultancy in the Sustainability & Design space.
This role is an interesting opportunity if you’re at the Associate cusp Principal level & are looking for a bit of a challenge. The situation is this..
This consultancy currently is well known & respected for their work in the Renewables space but not in Environmental Planning & Approvals. Their current Planning & Approvals team of 15 in Brisbane delivers major transport infrastructure projects (road, rail) but with such an obvious opportunity already in the business, this role is to bring the Approvals / Planning phase into the business.
The Role:
- The purpose for this role is to find someone with Environmental Planning expertise with Renewables projects on their resume. This will provide confidence and solutions to existing clients across Queensland.
- As you are aware, the approvals pathway for Renewables projects typically go down the DA pathway, and this is where the gap is in this team.
- Whilst there is an existing renewables energy service line, this is later in the design phase. Plenty of clients want this team to deliver more front end approvals, so as Lead Environmental Planner, your remit is developing and growing out the renewables client base.
- Initially report into the Qld Enviro lead, but in time as your team grows, your team will split away as a stand-alone group.
- You’ll be given plenty of work in transport to tie you over as you grow the renewables function.
- If you have a good reputation in the renewables space, this role is an opportunity to really thrive in the business side of things as well, fully supported by the existing Planning & Energy service lines.
The Consultancy:
This is a Global Brand recognised for its Sustainability and Design offering. The QLD Energy team provides design engineering and owners engineer solutions for major wind, solar and hydrogen renewables projects so there’s plenty there to work with.
Being a top-tier you can expect all the bells & whistles that come with this style of company but what really sets this brand apart from the other globals is their strong focus on design & sustainability which underpins everything they do.
Benefits:
- Employee owned
- Very flexible WFH arrangements
- Purchase additional leave
- Local and Global profit share
- Parental Leave 12 weeks full pay, full super for unpaid leave up to 52 weeks
- Novated Car Lease
- Interest Free Bicycle Loans!
- Birthday leave
Experience:
- Must have Renewables Planning experience with a strong DA track record.
- Could have a further background as a Statutory or Town Planner.
- Local planning pathways experience is ideal.
- Circa 15 years experience.
