Environmental Consultant, CLM

Contaminated Land, ENVIRONMENTAL

Brisbane, QLD

120 — 150

  • PFAS, groundwater and remediation projects across Defence & infrastructure
  • Salary up to $120k + super | Flexible structure and work arrangements
  • National clients, boutique team culture, no corporate noise

As an Environmental Scientist in Contaminated Sites, you’ll join a national consultancy with a reputation for clever problem solving, patented PFAS remediation tech, and a refreshingly low-BS approach to delivery.

Based in Brisbane, this role offers the opportunity to build your technical experience across contaminated land, site investigations and remediation while being genuinely supported by experienced mentors and systems that make your life easier.

It’s a role designed for someone early in their career who wants exposure to major projects and clients, without disappearing into a 200-person machine or dealing with unnecessary layers of signoff.

The Role

You’ll support the delivery of site assessment and remediation projects across sectors including Defence, aviation, resources and infrastructure.

Expect to:

  • Deliver PSI & DSI investigations, including sampling and drilling supervision
  • Design and implement sampling strategies and remediation approaches
  • Work on sites with complex PFAS and groundwater challenges
  • Manage subcontractors and site logistics
  • Contribute to technical reporting and environmental monitoring
  • Collaborate with technical leads across multiple states
  • Undertake local and occasional interstate travel

Who You’ll Work With

This is a values-driven team of scientists and engineers who genuinely care about the work they do. The Brisbane crew is collaborative, humble and well-respected in the industry – no politics, no cliques.

You’ll be trusted to work independently, supported when needed, and encouraged to pursue your areas of interest. The company is flat-structured, open with opportunities, and actively invests in new tools and ideas (including in AI and digital systems) to streamline how projects are delivered.

What You’ll Bring

  • 1–4 years’ experience in contaminated land consulting
  • Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or similar
  • Fieldwork experience (PSI/DSI, remediation, sampling)
  • Manual driver’s licence
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Willingness to travel for field work (mostly local, some interstate)
